Maithé TAUBER - Head of the Scientific Committee
Maithé Tauber is professor of paediatrics at Paul Sabatier University, Children Hospital, Toulouse, France. Her training was in paediatrics endocrinology in Toulouse in the department of Professor Pierre Rochiccioli. She was a visiting scholar with Prof R Rosenfeld at Stanford university, in the USA. Professor Tauber was member elected of the ESPE scientific council from 1999 to 2004. She chaired the department of paediatric endocrinology from 1998 to 2015 and coordinates the reference centre for Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) since 2004. She has been member of the INSERM Unit 1043 since 2000 with a “contrat d’interface INSERM” for 5 years from 2012 to 2017. She was the chair of the French society of Paediatric Endocrinology from 2006-2010. Her initial research interests were in the field of growth hormone treatment and paediatric obesity. Her current research interest is the pathophysiology of endocrine troubles in PWS and the role of oxytocin and ghrelin. She has developed a multidisciplinary clinic for patients with PWS and other syndromes with eating disorders and has been the chair of the second and third international meeting on PWS.
